MINI Clubman Cooper S Streetworker by Schmidt Revolution

Looking like a car that?s been worked on for eye candy purposes, this MINI Cooper Clubman S may be a looker at first glance, but it actually has more to it than just its aesthetic improvements.

The car was worked on by Schmidt Revolution and features enough design upgrades that would make other MINIs blush with envy. The car, aptly named the ?StreetWorker?, already comes with an in-house John Cooper Works Aerodynamic package so that in-itself is already reason enough to enjoy this ride. But instead of settling on just that package, Schmidt Revolution add some more sizzle to an already steaming bowl of MINI goodness.

The tuning firm went to work on the car by adding a matte blue wrap with black accents. The suspension was also tinkered with, giving it a Streetec air suspension that allows the car to adjust its ride height either 60mm lower or 40mm higher than its standard format all through the push of some buttons.

But despite these changes, the car?s claim to uniqueness is the set of 18? Cirrus rims that comes with any 3D-shaped multiplex patterns in a variety of colors, be it matte blue, bright red, or even carbon black.

And if you thought that Schmidt Revolution?s work on the Clubman Cooper came sans any performance upgrades, you?ll be happy to know that the company went out of its way to tinker with the car?s turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, upping its output to 200 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The work on the engine now provides the car the power to hit a top speed of 137 mph as well.

We know that the car?s overall look may be an acquired taste for some ? some might even cringe at it ? but as far as we?re concerned, Schmidt Revolution?s work is ?unique? and ?different? in a good way. Kind of like how you would describe MINI.

Press Release after the jump.

Pontiac Rally II Wheels

Hey, I want to build a model of my '65 Chevrolet Corvair Monza which has 15 inch Pontiac Rally II wheels on it. I looked through the models at Hobby Town USA today ad the only Pontiacs that I found with these wheels were Firebirds. I think there was 1 GTO that had them, which I would be okay with, but I do not like the first gen Firebirds, and don't want to buy the kit just for the wheels. If no one knows where I can find the wheels themselves, I will find a GTO with good Rally II's and just build it later. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.

Maybach Cruiserio Coupe

German coachbuilder, Xenatec, gets its kicks from making short cars long, long cars short, and long cars even longer. This is evident in their many zany interpretations, including their transformations for the Audi R8 and the Porsche 911. But their craziest package is yet to come with the Maybach Cruiserio Coupe, developed by Daimler and Saudi-based Auto Kingdom. There will only be 100 units built at a price of $940,000.

"The new Cruiserio coupe demonstrates a vision for design and production which AutoKingdom shares with the two German companies. This vision is the result of intellectual cooperation. The new generation features an advanced and ultra-elegant design by the most experienced and skilled automobile engineers and specialists who have deep knowledge of the demands of owners of luxury cars and their vision for an ultra-luxurious car which surpasses all what they saw in the past and is set to beat what they could see in the future."

The Cruiserio Coupe is powered by a V12 engine with an output of 605 HP and a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds, while top speed hits the 170 mph mark. Pretty amazing numbers considering we’re talking about a 5.7 meter luxury coupe.

What Did You Get Today?

Hi all, being this topic has been started 2 years ago on another fourm and is still running, I decided to start one here for those who want to show of there latest scores and buys. Here's what I got at our club meeting last night: I allready got cracking on it and built the nice, but rather flimsy cardbord diorama. I'll be starting a WIP topic on the '37 soon and i'll put the diner on at the end when she's all finished. I also got old '90s mopar magazines and won a American Grafitti '58 Impala 'Vert diecast kit from our raffle (not shown in pics). The 'Impy I gave to my friend who i'm trying to get in to building; him and I are going build and paint it as i'm showing him the basics of modeling when he's ready.

Tesla gets in on the Christmas spirit

Tesla is out to prove that there is not such thing as a Grinch where they are concerned. In order to show appreciation to the hundreds of people who went out and purchased the Tesla Roadster, the California-based electric car manufacturer is filling Santa’s bag up with radio-controlled versions of the sports car and delivering them just before Christmas. Each owner received a Radiant Red Roadster with tan seats and a lovely Christmas card to go along with it. Now that’s customer appreciation!

Of course, the RC version won’t be able to hit the 0-60 mph in 4 seconds and it doesn’t feature the same electric drivetrain producing 248 HP, but it’s still a pretty faithful replica to the real thing, and one that can entertain the child in all of us for quite some time!
